For most people, living a life as a radio personality and getting to interview today’s top music artists, comedians, and media personalities, all while providing the musical soundtrack to people’s lives on 98.1 The Max would be enough, but not for Ross Turner. He wants to live it. Since moving to Memphis 5 years ago, he’s helped form two bands (Native Blood, Deaf Revival), recorded at some of Memphis’ most recognized recording studios, played in almost every venue in Memphis, and opened for local and national touring acts. He’s also a stand-up comic that has performed across the United States, opening for premier touring comics, and has written for a comedy series directed by Memphis’ own Craig Brewer.

In effort to give back for the endless dreams that the Memphis community has enabled Ross to fulfill, he uses his platform of radio, comedy, and music to host and perform at countless benefit shows like raising money for families affected by the opioid crisis, LGBTQ outreach, women’s shelters, Memphis Humane Society, and of course the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis.

In addition, he has created an online weekly video podcast called “The Stump” that features and promotes up-and-coming Memphis recording artists from all backgrounds and genres. Ross might not be from Memphis, but this is his town and he wants you to know it.
